In this section, you are assumed to have correctly identified the IP address for the ULearn System Server. Therefore, you must produce a manual on how to configure the IP address on the server. You can use any operating system to demonstrate this task. The explanation should be supported with the screenshot and appropriate explanation.
First, we'll show you how to configure the IP address on the server using Windows 11.
Step 1 : Enter the Control Panel in the search box and click to open it.
Step 2 : When you open the Control Panel, a list of choices will display; navigate to Network and Internet. After that click it.

Step 3 : When you open Network and Internet, two choices appear: Network and Sharing Center, and Internet Options. You must select Network and Sharing Center from the menu.
Step 4 : After launching the Network and Sharing Center, your list of internet connections will show; it is up to you whether to use Wi-Fi or Ethernet. In this example, I'm utilizing a Wi-Fi connection from UTeM’s hostel. Navigate to connections and choose Wi-Fi (Kediaman_Pelajar).
Step 5 : Wi-Fi Status will show as a pop-up box. Then select the Properties button.
Step 6 : A pop-up box with Wi-Fi properties will be displayed. We wish to configure an IP address in this action, therefore we will select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
Step 7 : The Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window will be shown. This is where we'll set the IP address. Typically, we will use a DHCP server to get an IP address automatically.
Step 8 : To adjust the IP address, we must alter the setting from Obtain an IP address automatically by using the following IP address shown below. Following that, we enter an IP address for the ULearn System Server obtained from Question 2 Subnetting Calculation. The IP address is 172.16.128.2.
Step 9 : The IP address class will be used to fill in the subnet mask. This is because the IP address from class C in this case, the subnet mask will be 255.255.0.0.
Step 10 : The default gateway acts as a bridge between the local network and the internet. The host address is normally the same as the IP address but with a distinct number in the fourth octet, which is always 1. As a result, the default gateway is 172.16.128.1.
Step 11 : In general, we will use the same IP as the default gateway for the preferred DNS server, which is 172.16.128.1.
Step 12 : We'll utilize Google's DNS server, 8.8.8.8, for the Alternate DNS Server.
Step 13 : After you've filled in all of the essential information, click Validate Settings Before Exiting, then OK.
Step 14 : In the Wi-Fi Properties pop-up window, click Close.
Step 15 : Following that, a Windows Network Diagnostic pop-up box will appear to check for any issues with the new IP address settings. If there is no issue, click the Close button.
Step 16 : Finally, you may check your Internet connection. If you can connect to the Internet, your IP address setup was successful.
